Publisher’s Description:
Theia Alderson has always led a sheltered life in the small California town of Serendipity Falls. But when a devastatingly handsome boy appears in the halls of her school, Theia knows she’s seen Haden before – not around town, but in her dreams.
As the Haden of both the night and the day beckons her closer one moment and pushes her away the next, the only thing Theia knows for sure is that the incredible pull she feels towards him is stronger than her fear.
And when she discovers what Haden truly is, Theia’s not sure if she wants to resist him, even if the cost is her soul.
My Review:
It is not often that I am drawn into a story so completely in the first few pages, as i was in Falling Under. From the opening scene of Theia seeing a burning man falling from the sky, i was hooked. The mystery within this book was delightfully suspenseful, as was the hauntingly beautiful and romantic world that the author has created.
I loved the main protagonist Theia, as she was incredibly likeable, as were her friends Amelia and Donny. And as far as love interests go, Haden is fantastic, a gorgeous mysterious guy with a bad boy streak and hidden dark secrets, who could want more in a male lead.
The eerie dream scenes were beautifully written, and i could clearly imagine being right there in Theia’s dreams, as were the romantic scenes, which at times took my breath away.
I loved the way the story developed, and by the end, I was awestruck. The story left off with a kind of cliff hanger, which will be the perfect introduction for the sequel.
I am in love with this book, and was left thinking about it for days after listening. It was so haunting, but in a good way, and so romantic, that I was swept away in its beauty, and cannot wait until the sequel is released.
The narration was fantastic, as it was read in the english accent of the main character Theia, yet the narrator effortlessly switched to an American accent for the American characters when neceassary.
What more can i say, I loved this book, and highly recommend listening to this audiobook asap. Make sure to put it at the top of your listening or reading pile.
